Dear Delegate,

A conference is happening this year. One that has been anticipated, mashing together the rules and procedures of conferences from high school to national, and giving the opportunity to our lovely staff and board to make a new experience possible for you. Chairs will be chosen through applications, making the dais team stay as fair as possible. As the Secretary General for Modun MUN, I am extremely excited to open up the gates to an experience that one will remember. Through its engaging committees, by its strive to educate on different rules that national conferences do, and to make the committees work for all. To sharpen the skills of the intermediate, to challenge the best of the advanced, and to teach the new delegates coming into MUN as beginners. New ways of doing speeches and directives, and with the structure of Crisis, Hybrid, and General Assembly-style committees.

As your Secretary General, I would like to be respectful and also introduce myself. The name is Manas Azamat, and I am currently a sophomore studying in Chicago. I was a freshman student in Mongolia; that’s where my journey began. All SGs will talk about how their story started, and well, I’ll do the same. Starting as a freshman, MUN was one of the only English extras I could do since I couldn’t speak Mongolian, and it being one of my few, it was my favorite and an escape to fun. In my life before MUN, I was always arguing, and I’ve been known to have an open mind. At my first conference, I did lose, thinking I should give up, but eventually the drive to debate hooked me back in. I learned so many perspectives, and after winning my first Best Delegate, I’ve been on a roll, from winning Best to also winning prestigious awards in debate and mock trial, and learning all these perspectives just drove me further. At the start of my sophomore year, I won Best Delegate at the biggest high school MUN in the United States and won at my school as well, and I also attended Chicago's premier Model UN, known as CIMUN. I’ve been invited in my freshman and sophomore years to competitions and MUNs to chair or participate. Taking it further, I am part of the US National Model UN Travel Team, known as All-American MUN. As a delegate who has participated in national conferences and small ones, from winning Best over and over to crying in my room about losing, I’ve noticed all perspectives, and taking the ones I want to show, I, along with my team, have prioritized being different, and it is our honor to welcome you to the conference that will be different than all other Mongolian conferences. And I promise, as the founder of this conference, you will walk out with something new in your head, a new perspective.

Manas Azamat

Dear Delegates,

I am honored to be the Director Secretary General of Modun Model United Nations. Then why did I join Modun MUN? My very good friend Manas is known for his ambition. I really loved his idea of bringing a new experience to Mongolian MUNs.

Let’s dive into where this all started. So Manas and I became friends at Hobby WSDC in 2025, and continued with Goethe MUN. We had such great times. Then he suggested to me an idea of holding a MUN conference, of course, I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to, but he persuaded me to bring a new system to Mongolian MUNs. For his first MUN as a 10th grader, organizing his very first MUN is very impressive. I hosted my first MUN back in 10th grade as well.

As the Director Secretary General, I would like to remind you all that this is a conference. You just don’t come here to debate or represent a nation to solve real-life issues, but you also came here to enjoy other experiences. Go make friends, socialize, participate in activities, and don’t forget to truly experience what a Model United Nations Conference is.

I stand for something new. Trying things out is not about losing; it's about understanding and experiencing them. That is why I was the co-founder of the Modun Model United Nations. I am really grateful to my team members for making Modun MUN great.
